Mobile payments now expected to hit $1 Trillion

In an article in Forbes mobile payments is expected to reach $1 Trillion by 2017 (report by IDC Financial Insights, Nov 2017). Mobile payments as of IDC, also includes ecommerce conducted on mobile web browsers and more.

The IDC report also said it expects that NFC will become the most-popular payment platform, followed by point-of-sale payments. In third place will be P2P (peer-to-peer) payments, the article said.

Isn’t NFC part of POS payments? Don’t understand and by the way I still think NFC is just a pairing technology, not a mobile payment platform/technology.
