Today I received more information about the Swedish banks mobile payment person-to-person (P2P) service, Swish. A spokes person at Nordea said that the service will be launched “this Autumn”. Behind Swish is the four big banks plus two niche banks. Swish will from start only cover P2P payment and the only thing a registered user need for doing a payment is the recipients (need also to be registered) mobile number.
In the other corner is WyWallet, a joint venture with the four big MNO’s in Sweden (TeliaSonera, Tele2, Telenor and 3), and that covers 97% of the country’s population. One of the mobile payment services that will be in from start is a P2P with same need for doing a payment. WyWallet is planned for launch this summer.
